February 2019 Board Update

150 150 The Point Owners Association, Inc.

Annual POA Meeting. The Annual POA Meeting was held on February 19, 2019 in the Village Ballroom. The PowerPoint presentation is available at: https://thepointatlkn.com, halfway down the page. We are pleased to welcome to the Board our two new members, Heather Ballard and Mike Barton. The Board will vote on officers at the March meeting. We want to sincerely thank Sheryl-O’Bryan Johnson and George Mitchell for their past three years of Board service. Thank you to all of the residents who attended the meeting.

Dog Waste Reminder.  The Board and, more specifically, our Landscape committee/consultant has again asked us to remind the community of the importance of picking up dog waste in the neighborhood when walking your pets. Providence Landscape Group (PLG) regularly picks up 10-15 bags of waste weekly that are either left on the sidewalks or hidden in the berms. In the community SFE’s (Septic Field Easements), we are finding that the waste is not even picked up.  These areas are mowed and obviously this leads to undesirable consequences for PLG workers. Please take the time and effort to bring bags with you when walking your dog and dispose of the waste bags properly to ensure the continued beauty of the neighborhood.

Please note CCR, Article VII, Section 7 – ” Any excrement deposited by an animal on any portion of the Property shall be promptly removed and appropriately disposed of by the owner of such animal.  Dogs shall at all times whenever they are outside of a Dwelling Unit be on a leash or otherwise confined in a manner acceptable to the Board.” Please contact Animal control (704) 878-5424 with any issues that a resident may encounter.

Security Reminder.  Please keep in mind that criminals look for easy targets and other potential advantages particularly on holiday weeks and times when many neighbors travel. Please lock your doors, do not leave valuables in your vehicle, park vehicles inside the garage or keep them locked, and shut your garage door.  If you have a home security system, turn it on at night along with outdoor lights.  Also, secure loose items on any boats or docks. Please report suspicious behavior to the Sheriff’s Office.  They are there to help us.

Reporting A Crime to The Sheriff’s Office. If you need to report a crime or any suspicious activity to the Iredell County Sheriff’s office, call (704) 878-3100.  This is the direct line to the Sheriff’s office, and it is the best number to call to get the quickest response.  For non-emergencies, please call 704-878-3180.

Reporting POA Problems or Concerns. Please note that the best way to communicate any problems or concerns you have is to report them to our management company at: [email protected] or 704-377-0114.

Next Board Meeting. Our next Board meeting will be held at 9 AM on March 19, 2019. If you wish to address the Board with relevant issues that apply to our community, please contact our management company at: [email protected] or 704-377-0114 by March 12, 2019.
