Mailboxes and Spring Updates

150 150 The Point Owners Association, Inc.

In the months of May and June, the POA will be embarking on a new project to thin the pine trees along Brawley School Road.  Our consultants and tree experts have advised us that it is time to start removing some of the initial loblolly pine plantings that were installed by Crescent Resources as part of the original tree installation efforts.  Some of the pines are starting to crowd each other out or stunting the growth of the more preferred species of cherry, oak, maple or ash trees that were installed.  Our intention is not to remove any screening from Brawley School Road, but to promote positive growth from the species of trees that remain.  This is not by any means a radical or extensive thinning, but a surgical effort to reduce competition and promote selected species growth. This will be a multi-year project and will start this year at the beginning of the neighborhood and continue to this side of the traffic circle.  The trees to be removed have been tagged with orange ties.
