Mid-Summer Friendly Reminders

900 600 The Point Owners Association, Inc.

NO WAKE ZONES:
As a reminder, No Wake zones on Lake Norman are in place as a public safety measure. Additionally, No Wake zones also help minimize damage to the shoreline, docked boats, boat lifts and personal docks.

It is unlawful to operate a vessel at greater than no‑wake speed within 50 yards of a boat launching area, bridge, dock, pier, marina, boat storage structure, or boat service area on the waters of Lake Norman. No‑wakespeed is idle speed or slow speed creating no appreciable wake.

Simply slowing down can often create a more damaging wake, so idle speed is important. The cove off of Somerset Village is one of the areas of concern as several boaters have been reported navigating at higher than permitted speeds. For those navigating the waters, please take extra caution to slow down to idle speed as directed. If you need to report boating safety, no wake or other violation, please call 704-878-3100.

PIER TRANSFER:
As a reminder, when purchasing property with a pier, the buyer must take action to transfer the pier into new ownership. The permit transfer process is initiated by submitting a Construction Application available on the Duke Energy website at https://www.duke-energy.com/community/lakes/services/permits-shoreline-activities.

As a reminder, political and other election campaign signs are permitted, but NO EARLIER than 45 days before Election Day and NO LATER than seven days after Election Day. Only one political sign is allowed at any one time on any Lot. No political sign shall be larger than 24 inches by 24 inches. No political signs are allowed on any Common Area. EMERGENCIES, NON-EMERGENCIES AND REPORTING A CRIME:
If you have a fire, medical or life-threatening emergency call 911. For all Sheriff, Fire or EMS non-emergencies call 704-878-3100. This is the direct line to dispatch and is the best number to call for the quickest response.
